Artemis Fowl is a 12 year old criminal mastermind from Ireland. He believes he has discovered the underground of world of fairies.
In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Atermis. with his trust strongarm and bodyguard Butler, comes across a sprite posing as a healer and acquires from her the fairy holy book written in Gnomish.

Meanwhile the pretty and tough elf policegirl Captain Holly Short, of LEPrecon is pursuing a deadly troll who has escaped aboveground, and is kidnapped by Artemis to ransom her for copious amounts of fairy gold,. Holly is put under the care of Butler’s sister, Juliet, a blond 16 year old bodyguard in training.

Artemis has taken on LEPrecon and has not reckoned with LEPrecon Commander Juius Root who will stop at nothing to rescue Captain Short. LEPrecon is aided by centaur Foaly. A lot of exciting and fast paced action sometimes too much of it to allow for much character or scene development.
A great deal of wit and humour which is possibly the main attraction of the books.
Technology fans will love the high tech elf equipment.
Plenty of weird and wonderful characters- my favourite being the mesmerizing Captain Holly Short.
Not quite a modern classic but it is loved by teen and pre-teen audiences internationally.

I use Office 2007 at work and have become accustomed to it for what I consider basic productivity. I tried using MS Works (which came with my last two pcs) and I found Works to be more of a hastle than a help. There are compatibility issues with Works. Now all I need is Adobe Acrobat Professional and I’ll feel whole.

I graduated from Hi School in 1950. There are no words to describe how regimented the world was at that time. There were no rebels as models that was before James Dean & Elvis. The sterotypical girl were supposed to resemble Doris Day and the male be as stoic and jock like as possible to be accepted in that world so long ago. The movies were our role models very few had T.V. and T.V. was impossibly stupid in 1950. Even if we were unaware of our behavior we were attempting to emulate what we had seen on the screen. If you didnt fit the “Keep up with the Jones”
mentality you were an outcast. The phoniness and the superficiality of this decade is what makes “CATCHER IN THE RYE” so relevant today. I had heard about this book for years, never read it until my later years. This book is a monumental work of art that todays teenager can identify with even more so than in 1951 when the book was published.

Forget about the reviews saying the editing on the DVD is amateurish…its very cool and very artistic….yes, there are three bonus tracks from AOL.sessions which are more in keeping with what these complaining viewers would like…overlit TV talk show (daytime) productions……and they are also good, but its a very well paced program and very hip. If you are still lamenting the loss of mono and are confused by stereo you may want to avoid this product as more than one camera was used to film this series of performances ….and its switch from color to black and white might make you wonder if your set is broken….or actually wonder how you got color depending on your vintage. The songs are great , the singer is excellent and the program enoyable….
